Look for the building labelled "SLC". The room we are holding the tournament is next to the huge wide open area near the south-west end of the building. Its between there and the food courts. The easiest way to get to this is by going in through the doors right on the ring road, or the doors by the parking lot.
Driving directions and parking information is listed on the same link as above. Please scroll down. The closest parking space available seems to be in lot M ($4 per day), lot N ($3 per day), and lot J ($3 per day). You can also park in lot X for free. Since it is on a weekend there is also free parking at St Jerome's and Renison university college parking lots.
TOURNAMENT FORMAT:
- Several rank pools (to be decided once a good number of people have registered)
- 4 Rounds
- Swiss Macmahon style match-ups
- Japanese rules / 6.5 komi
- Correct Handicap - 1
- Certificates to top players in each division
- Prizes: please bring a small prize you're willing to donate to the prize pool (Go books, oriental things, or anything else another Go player might find interesting). We'd like as many people as we can to leave with a prize.
- 25 min each + canadian byo yomi: 10 min 20 stones, then 10 min 30 stones, then 10 min 40 stones, etc.
REGISTER:
This is an event that is open to the public, so everyone is welcome to attend! Please try to register by Friday morning (25th). Otherwise, don't bother and just come on down and we'll try and fit you in.

FEES:
None! We want this tournament to be accessible to everyone. However, a suggested donation of $5 to the Waterloo Go Club will be greatly appreciated; it will help us purchase much needed equipment.

9:00 AM - 10:00 AM: Set up and Registration
10:15 AM - 11:45 PM: Round 1
11:45 AM - 12:45 PM: Lunch
12:45 PM - 2:15 PM: Round 2
2:15 PM - 3:45 PM: Round 3
3:45 PM - 5:15 PM: Round 4
5:15 PM - 6:00 PM: Awards + Clean-up
OTHER NOTES:
There are a few places to buy a quick lunch from in the SLC itself. Also, there is a plaza 10 minute walk from the tournament site, where you can get some more interesting lunches from.
